Officially, Castle’s premiere is over. The second part of the double episode debut was on air this Sunday and stole my breath and my thinking ability.

After a rough end in Valkyrie, with Castle finding out that he’d had less than a day to live, DreamWorld showed us the ending of it all, with a brillant and breathtaking episode. It’s last 42 minutes that looked like 10. I think that it was the biggest stunt of Castle’s premiere. We’ve always seen them against time together. When one of them was in danger and had little time to live (like bombs or freezer), they’re together, but in DreamWorld it didn’t happen. Castle was in danger and Beckett coudn’t do anything but finding the bad guy.

I tought that the events in the episode were calm. Obviously, Beckett was fouccused and worried with Castle, athough, she was extremmely racional and proffesional, knowing how to act, she foccused in the investigation. For me, this was a little strange. It was like "Hey, Castle is dying” but with no panic or other reactions for the fact that your fiancé has only one day to live. It sounded that the “panic” button was pushed only at the 10 final minutes of the episode. Things got extremelly emotional near the end, where it seems that Beckett had an adrenalin injection when Castle’s death time was near and they coudn’t find the killer.

FYI, I loved the episode, it had its flaws and lost itself at some points. The case had everything to go for. An Intteligence investigator being murdered (with the Valkyrie Codinome), with Al-Qaeda possibly involved and the security secretary seemed “not to care” with those stuff – Again, I hate politicians in Castle . This ends with a twist and becomes a case of revenge.

Maybe I just want more cases such as "Pandora" and "Linchpin" - the double episode of the fourth season - in which World War III had been extremely well explored. Maybe I miss those cases that crakes my head and makes me think the resolution. I found really important to put those questions of military bases, without citing terrorism in the series. Even more questions envolving the FBI, which made a lot of sense. But I really wanted that the resolution had been more of that too, insted heading to another point. Sometimes I'm afraid that these things are lost because of the romance. But In Marlowe we trust, I think he knows how to handle these things and that Castle has everything to present a wonderful season.

Caskett was once again flawless. Castle worrying if Beckett would be fine without him, she desperately looking for the antidote to save her fiancé, Cuddy, sorry, McCord, giving full coverage to the newest partner, giving evidence that she’s beginning to trust on our KBex these ... small details enriched the episode that was making me crazy because the confusion of the case. Again, we see how Martha understands her son - as we have already seen very similar there in season 3 with the case 3XK- and realizes that everything is wrong. Even though Becks tell Esposito – in a non friendly manner – that everything was fine.

We also saw that even brief and simple, a moment those I’ve been missing: Alexis and Castle. These father and daughter moments  that I love so much, reappearing. Maybe because, even due to the relationship, things may turn more to families, this delicious relation to see once again become more frequent. I look forward to more.

How to watch the scene from the hospital without reliving scenes from “Rise”? Even though the positions were reversed the affection for one another it had marked at the same way. The lack of answers of Kate, when questioned by Castle about "Washington or us?" describes, better than any word, her inner confusion. Beckett knows the answers as much as we do. She knows she is incredibly good, but also knows how much this career will cost. This is time to assess the risks and ask: “Is it really worth?". Castle has said he will be there for her no matter what happens, no matter what she decides. Now it is with our current agent and eternal detective to decide what she wants and what is best for her.

The end of the episode Rachel makes clear to Beckett that things in DC are different and there is not New York - another reality check, Becks - which left our favorite detective/Agent and the fans with doubts. Was this a hint that she is not liking how things are heading in DC? The lack of investigation and punishment when things get too close to “the big fish”  bothers Kate and makes her question her own values of right and wrong. She is definitely one of the NYPD, and although I love McCord, I can not wait to see her back to 12th.

This premiere was bold, starting with a double episode is not an easy thing to do, so I think it was a great debut! We can expect great things for this season and hopefully Castle keeps it up, as it remains until today, a number that has crime, romance and comedy like no other.

PS1: Martha going after the boys of 12th to find out what was happening was beautiful.
PS2: Beckett looking at the door saying "That's what partners do",  repeating McCord’s words, made me feel like a comparison between her old partner and its present. And between DC and the good and beloved NYPD.
PS3: Castle finding out about where the suspect was before the FBI did not convince me. Where in the galaxy we see a writer who knows more about federal investigation than real agents?
PS4: Hey Mr.C, is there a room for a federal agent on your next book?
